Plain and Simple

Last week's post is all about being a rock star. Though it's not our everyday getup, we surely enjoyed dressing up as one. This week we thought of stepping it down a little, going back to basics, something easy going, mellow and amicable in nature.

For now, let's deviate from the intimidating word "fashion" and  think of something "wearable". The mere thought of the word "fashion" often puts stress and panic to us specially if you haven't got any idea of what to wear (I know a lot of ladies out there will agree with me on this one). What I usually do in these scenarios? I open my closet and look for something basic and staple for any season. Something that you can easily dress up or down to your liking. That's the benefit of knowing what to mix and match even before you buy an outfit. An outfit you can buy during this season, yet you can still update, use and style next summer. My advice, build a wardrobe not solely of the latest trends. Think of classic, versatile, fits well, and can easily be updated by adding a few accessories every given season.

What can be more basic than a simple white dress? Choose one that's well cut and fits you well. Then simply add a few garments to attain the look you're eyeing to. Here I covered it with a denim jacket - another must have for every closet. Accessorized the look with some white and gold - watch from Baby G, plus matching pearl and gold necklace and bracelet.

Now he decided to differ my outfit strikingly by wearing all black from head to toe. Black wayfarers, light knit top over a white v-neck shirt, black denim pants and high cut boots from Milanos. Pretty dark and stylish indeed.

High Voltage

Far more than a mere musical genre, Rock and Roll has been influencing fashion and lifestyle since the 50's. It's a continuously evolving trend but the roots remain the same. Black, leathers, boots, buckles, studs and spikes - these are like the ABC's of Rock Fashion.

Our company recently held an event to recognize us - the employees, with our diligence and hard work. Yep you read it right, yours truly do work for a living. Rule is simple - come and dress up as a rock star. And so the SMX Convention at SM Aura was filled with rock stars as we march and party the night away. And so here's what me and Joseph came up for the event.

Biker chic - that's what on my mind while assembling this outfit. Rough on the outside, yet very feminine inside. I got this old - school motorcycle leather jacket as a gift from my boyfriend's mom. Perfect timing for the event!

Matched it with a gray cropped top with those very nice cutout details in front, and a black skater skirt.  A rocker look wouldn't be complete without a good pair of boots. Accessories and right make up will give you the right rocker look. Nice dark eye to match with my outfit and a studded bracelet and necklace, an easy way to say rock and roll!

Dressing up as a rock star comes naturally with him ( thanks to his tattoos). All he need was a basic white V neck shirt, black denim and a pair of high rise boots that he copped from Milanos. Gotta be his new favorite for this season.

Adding some accessories to keep the look interesting. Gray fedora, a pair of glasses and clip suspenders. What can you say about his look?

It's been a while since my last post, and I miss visiting your pages too. This one is for you guys, hope y'all like it. :)

P.S

Typhoon Yolanda ( Internationally known as Haiyan ) left our country but not without causing massive casualties. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who sent their help and prayers for the victims. They may be roofless or homeless, but with our help they will never be hopeless. Please include my countrymen in your prayers as they continue to recover from typhoon's onslaught. Please feel free to visit The Philippine Red Cross for information on how you can extend your help. Again thank you and God bless!  ♥
